Xelo Muñoz builds a sculptural language from the tension between solid mass and empty space. She shapes and reinforces geometric forms by hand, while patinas evoking iron, bronze or stone lend contemporary objects material depth and a crafted character.
The artist was born in 1975 in Valencia, Spain. Among her most important techniques are: sculptural work in mixed media. Xelo Muñoz creates original contemporary artworks in which an individual visual language, texture and a deliberate choice of material remain more important than decorative effect.
